“Why, did you want me to?” she asks teasingly, stretched out on her back and mostly covered.
Probably not. [Holds up a corner of the blanket in offering.]
I’m still not. [Head in hands and eyes closed tiredly, sitting up.]
Lol, always reblog this meme.

Her eyes narrow, still suspicious of the man. That inner relief at hearing her double has been deactivated is brief, smothered by the thought that Matron’s is still out there somewhere. “He’s the one who made that… fake, the robotic version of me. And Matron.” Megamind’s attention turns back to Miracle. “That doesn’t change what you…” She stops, biting back the words. No, this was exactly how people had treated her for several months after her debut as a hero. “So, am I right in assuming you heard of the aftermath, then?” Who knew what the man’s sources were, or how well they kept up.
Aftermath? “All I know about that little chapter in my life is that you and Matron were cleared of all charges and that you were going to go out of town for a bit. Beyond that I don’t know.” When he feels her eyes boring into his head, he looks up. “Matron told me before your merry little band left my lab.”
[Metro Man notices that Girly’s referring to the replicas in the singular, not the plural, so clearly she isn’t aware that there was another robot build to imitate her. Unsure of how much the other two should share on that subject, but wants to make it clear to Mr. Miracle that he’s knows about the android that’s still active.] Not to interrupt, but I recently met your little friend, Veda. She’s part of the reason I’m actually giving you a chance at this. Just figured you’d want to know that before it slipped my mind.
“So you don’t know that your boss isn’t a threat, then.” Megamind asks idly. She opens her mouth, about to continue, before turning to Metro Man with a surprised look on her face. “Who?” Veda? Did she want to know?
“Oh, where to start?” She keeps her attention on Miracle as she speaks, tone deceptively casual. “You remember when you came out for a visit and we ended up talking about why I was absent from the city for a week?” Megamind asks idly, de-gun passing between her hands.
“Hey, I found your double and deactivated it, alright? You don’t have to worry about it anymore. The Matron double has been really quiet so I don’t know where it is. As soon as I do, it’s not gonna be a worry to you or anybody else. Besides, I let you stay in my lab until that little misunderstanding was taken care of, didn’t I?” He regretted saying that as soon as it left his mouth and went back to looking at the tablet.
Just so you both are aware, while I can pick a few pieces out here and there, mostly you two are just confusing me. I remember you telling me about fighting the guy that took Roxanne, but what does that have to do with Miracle? [It probably wouldn’t affect things either way, but he’s trying to minimize how much he moves, it an attempt to help things out or not hinder the guy, anyway.]

((what this fandom really needs is a big group orgy— with lots of lube, and blue vibrators/strap-ons.))

There are so many questions she wants to ask, though this, watching this play out, is chasing most of them away; they can wait until this is finished. More than anything, Megamind simply hopes it works, instead of causing more damage. The situation they’ve found themselves in, having to trust the same man who’s done so much, to both of them, rankles, but there’s little she can do about it now. One of the Brainbots that had followed her here nudges her free arm, nestling it’s way underneath and keeping its eye-stalk focused on the unfamiliar person in front of the two of them.
“No, I tried to take precautions they’d work. The nanites were in with local anesthetic in an attempt to curb the pain, but as you said, your physiology isn’t like that of a human’s and the anesthetic was slow to kick in. That’s the one thing that didn’t go as planned, and I hope it’s the only thing. Now that they’re through the stomach wall, they’re heading straight for your brain to await further orders.”
[Oh goody, just what he wants to hear, the nasty little bugs are on their way. Not that that isn’t the point, he’s just still very uncomfortable at the thought. Sighing, he crosses his legs mid-air and settles in while the man works.] If it’s not too distracting to you, I’d like to distract myself from the fact that I can hear microscopic robots moving inside me. You two seem to have butted heads before, so either or you care to share?

Nodding, she already has the de-gun in hand when the nanites activate. That hiss of pain makes her attention wave, but Megamind knows she has to focus on what she’s doing. Not paying attention to what’s going on, in this situation, could end very badly.
He’d expected the solution the nanites were in, a local anesthetic, to have kicked in by the time he’d activated them, but he had grossly underestimated the activation time of it. “Damnit,” he said under his breath, “this is not how I wanted it to start. It’ll start to go away in a moment, I hope.”
You warned that is was going to hurt, so I don’t see why you’re worrying. Unless you’ve messed something up already. [Which is entirely possible in his mind. He knows good and well that his physiology is different from a humans, that’s why Safeword’s drugs didn’t completely incapacitate him the night she kidnapped him. And if something’s causing difficulties with the nanobots or just isn’t going the way Miracle had hoped, he isn’t surprised one bit.]

Half her attention is on Metro Man, the other focused on Miracle. If what he had given them didn’t do what he said it would… Megamind’s grip on the holster of her de-gun tightens. Hopefully it wouldn’t come to that, not with the questions she wanted to ask. Right now, though, her role was as back-up, and as much as it chafed to be the sidekick, she’d simply have to deal with it.
When he hears that there wasn’t a time limit, he gets a little embarrassed. “Sorry, the helmet amplifies all spoken sounds in the general area in case there’s something important that’s being said under one’s breath. I’ll go ahead and turn that function off.” He moved the x-ray to the side, pulled up the controls for the suit and turned the the auditory sensitivity down. “There, now you can say anything that you don’t want me to hear.” He turns around to see Metz finishing the last of the water and he puts the x-ray back up as the nanites communicated that they were ready to receive orders. “Alright, everything’s ready. Now, to get this moving faster so we don’t have to wait until the water’s digested, they’ll find the nearest blood vessel and use it to get to your brain. You’ll probably feel a little sting that won’t last very long in your stomach to let you know they are on the way. When they get to your brain and start repairing the damaged tissue, you’ll start remembering things. If things go right, you’ll have all of your memories back. If things go wrong… she’ll be here to take care of me.” He pointed at girly. “And trust me, not the correct choice of words, I’m only here to give you back what I took in my eagerness to prove myself to them. Ready?” He did something to the controls and Metz felt the little sting.
[That’s convenient, at least now he doesn’t have to worry about the man overhearing any not so nice comments he might have to say.] Okay. And, Girly, watch what he’s doing on those controls, I rather he not put too many holes in my brain before you can cube him. [He opens his mouth to say no, he’s not ready and never will be, but that’s thankfully right when Metro Man feels the sharp sting in his stomach. Hissing, he presses a hand to his belly and forces himself to not curl in on himself. In this, he’s fairly certain that Miracle wasn’t lying, but what might be a small pain to most people actually hurts him quite a bit since even now he has almost no pain tolerance. But that’s just a side affect of having invulnerability, you’re not used to getting hurt or dealing with pain at all.]

Owls confirmed to be the creepiest birds ever. LOOK AT THE FUCKING THINGS. If you fail to notice the one on the left fucking SWALLOWING a rat, then you have the dude singing some satanic chant or something next to him, and then you have those two other fucking psychos synchronized to make you feel creeped the fuck out with their soulless dance of FUCKING DOOM.
I really am tempted to reblog this every time it’s on my dash. That description is one of the best things on the internet.

One hand is resting on the holster of her de-gun, watching the exchange take place, when Metro Man brings up the matter of invulnerability, and she has to force herself to stay in place, continue watching Miracle, instead of gaping at him in shock. Off? How? Since when? How?
No. Focus. “And how do you propose to go about repairing the damages?”
“The same way the damage was caused, nanites.” He set the briefcase down and took out the syringe and handed it to Metro Man with the needle cap on. “It’s the only way that we can avoid cutting his head open. I’m no brain surgeon, but I learned enough about it to program the first nanites to do the damage. And now, with the help of the tablet computer, I’ll repair the damage.” He walked back over to the briefcase and took the computer out and looked at Metz sniffing the water. “I assure you, I did nothing to the water. I had hoped that giving it to you unopened would ease your mind, but I don’t blame you for making sure. Now, can we get to work, you did give me a deadline.” He turned the computer on and held it steady, aimed at Metz head for a moment while he took a picture. The picture came up on the screen and started to turn into an x-ray of his head from several different perspectives and started filling in the skull with the various parts of the brain.
[He gingerly accepts the syringe, having never really handled one before.] I didn’t give you a deadline. [Did Miracle overhear his correction and misunderstand? Carefully taking off the cap, Metro Man squirts the liquid into the water, then covers the needle again. This is a very bad idea, realistically he should just turn tail and run. What he doesn’t remember not remembering couldn’t hurt him, right? With a sigh, he touches the bottle to his lips and starts drinking, hoping that he wasn’t going to come out of all of this brain dead or worse.]
